Another quick update: I am meeting with several community members who have reached out with ideas and solutions as well as the apeswap team which has offered to help out to find a potential direction. I also let everyone vent yesterday and followed along to see what suggestions would come from commnity. There were some good ideas mixed in with the usual scammer hate. I will host an AMA tommorow morning for everyone to ask their questions and hear ideas from the community.

Today it was decided with the BiShares core team that it was in the best interest of all our investors to temporarily separate the Gaur project from that of BiShares. You could look at the new chat room as the start of this process. Bison will always be the governance token of BiShares. Gaur will always be a product of BiShares, and I will now be in charge of the Gaur project. Moving forward, I will only be focusing on this project alongside the Bishares’ Development Team (BDT). Firstly, I wanted to give thanks where it is due. I want to personally thank Vlad and Esteban for even having me on this team in the first place. I will make sure none of them will go away. Their emotional investment in this community, including BiShares, means more to them than anything else. I want to respect that as much as possible, and this is the best possible way of doing it. Why me (Surfacing8671)? I feel that this is an important question, but I hate to look narcissistic and have a segment about myself as the second point here. More later. Gaur and its future: Now you will start to understand why the decision was made to separate Gaur from BiShares and appoint a new lead for Gaur. The DeFi space is filled with scams, and there is the expectation that a company will disappear if any problem has occurred. In fact, I would even imagine that it would be much easier (albeit terrible) to do that. By the end of the week, plans for Gaur will be laid out and shown to the community. These plans include how I will be secured and validated on the blockchain with my position in Gaur and with that of BDT. More on that later, let's get to the good stuff… We have partnered with Autofarm and will be featured in the AutoAmplify Partnership Programme that is just starting up right now. This is a really big deal. This means that they will be promoting Gaur to their wide range of customers not just with their normal vault system but an amplified one. They have around 14 separate block chains of traffic. This also means during the amplify, collaborated marketing in form of tweets / RT / AMA or Twitter spaces will also be going on. As of right now there is only 1 amplified vault that is available in this program and that has brought over 6mil TVL in that specific vault. The timeframe of that is TBD, I will hear back from them as soon as they get it on the schedule. My brain says that I should consult and review with team to decide the best possible outcome. Date time TBD. Crystl.Finance will also be making a vault for us. They are also a very stand up company that will be vital to the success of Gaur in both the short term and long. More on that in a separate post. This is all for right now. State of BiShares It’s an unfortunate reality but we’re disappointed to say the product we have grown and loved was and is barely being used. Since the first days of the project, all we heard from the amazing community is how much they loved our products. The products were celebrated from a plethora of users, from the media to influencers, and of course the dedicated community members at BiShares. However the sad truth is that the capital never followed. Users would praise the product but barely put it to use. No index broke 1M in TVL at any point, despite having multiple incentives behind it. Even with the full weight of ApeSwap’s marketing team and having the most listened to podcast on BSC News ever, there wasn't enough capital to invest in indexes. The easiest product ever to invest in during this market, BiChain, never received traction despite all of the marketing done for it. No usage of product means no fees. In the last 3 months since the last fee distribution, we collected 13,000 USD in fees. These fees are set to be distributed this week, a whole 13k from the last 3 months which includes the busiest time at BiShares. The dev fees are so small it is not enough to pay for the hardworking dev team that codes these technology feats, it doesn’t even cover the expenses of updating pricing oracles of the indexes. It appears that the majority of interest is in moonshot tokens, as was witnessed in a marketing campaign that partially worked out. The BISON token was only popular during a 3-day period which saw many new community members who barely did DYOR or didn't at all, aped from FOMO of an influencer, getting stuck in an overpriced token. We have tried several things over the last 6 months and innovated many aspects of BiShares, hoping to bring excitement to the community, but nothing was hitting the mark. Techside: - Basic Indexes had poor interest with out farming support and even when supported by ApeSwap. - Yield Bearing funds with 100% APY had no interest without farming support. - Yield Bearing funds with 400% APY with farm support had almost no interest. Marketing: - Multiple ApeSwap campaigns - Multiple Influencers - Long term partner with BSC news - Multiple Podcasts including most listened to podcast on BSC news We have spent the last few weeks looking for a path forward that would allow for BISON to flourish but internally we have not found a way to make it viable. If the community has a vision, we are more than happy to listen and learn, as well as including community members who are committed with the project to the team. This is an update on the current status of the project and doesn't mean it is being left.

Dev / Roadmap Update GAUR ZAPPER TAX We have looked extensively into the finding a way around the tax for the zapper but the contract does not allow for it. BISON FEES DISTRIBUTION All calculations have been done and we are verifying the results. Ideally tommorow we can distribute to stakers. INDEXES and YBFS We will be disabling mints on some old ybfs and indexes soon and then releasing new ones on both BSC and FTM. Burn function will always remain active. We welcome community discusion about what projects or farms they would like to see in indexes or YBFs. FTM certainly has some new interesting options. CRONOS Development on the YBF and OHM style treasury continues.

Fair point but I would like address some of this. We have had lots of meetings internally about how best roadmap into better days. Lets talk about some of the points: Focusing on core Bison products: The indexes did not attract much liquidity when not supported by farms. Cant sustain farming as it makes tokens drop in value due to dilution. Look at Apeswap token. So came YBFs…super high yield farms but not much liquidity either when not supported by farms. Gaur was designed to catch current market trends while allowing to build commununity on Cronos network. Didn’t play out as panned both in v1 and v2. Dev Team is building other products. We are fairly deep into a stablecoin YBF that we think stablizes the OHM model but with OHM falling apart we have to see what happens there. yesterday I proposed a stablecoin YBF that can be staked to mint a fully backed stablecoin which can then be used to mint more YBF and repeat process..multifold stables. we have to test it out also internally. So its not as we are not innovating or working on solutions. They do take time. As for other projects. All founders help other projects. Experience is always needed. When I was introduced to Qouth team of course I asked how I could help. I did help. I helped design some of the utility for the system and expect their core team to do a good job with it. BiShares is our core project and we always looking for ways to expand utilty and find a way to bring bigger volume to the project. The pump we had a few months ago did more harm than good. A marketer painted us a vision of helping grow internationally but instead did a quick blast that left many underwater. We would have prefered our gradual growth we had going on. Right now we have taxed GAUR and will leave it as such for the time being. We will continue building out the new stablecoin YBF which backs a OHM style treasury which all focuses on BISON. We will gauge how the core community responds after its release and then we will look back on marketing after.

GAUR UPDATE: We have the ability to turn on a transfer tax. It would dynamically tax ALL transfers of GAUR. which means even buys. It is algorithmically set and at current price it would be 20%. At peg it goes to 1% and we can turn it off completly if community desires. The taxed gaur would be burnt automatically, reducing the supply. We will work on an onchain vote using gBonds. The emergency mint was performed to avoid adverse whale activity. It was done because large gaur holding coupled with ballooning gaur price threatened the project liquidity. 10k airdrop allocation was used to perform this operation. Since then the ownership of the gaur contract that allows minting was passed on to the boardroom contract, and now only the boardroom can mint gaur. This can be verified here (I will post the link). The proceeds of this treasury operations were used to buy back gaur and add liquidity to the protocol. While we reckon it wasn't the best route, this was a fast and necessary measure due to the initial statement.
